About me and my practice
Born in Belgium, raised there and in Switzerland, ending upon the UK at 16 and moving to The Netherlands at 42, I'm a Third Culture Kid who's always been interested in psychology and what makes people behave the way they do. I did a psychology degree. worked in the corporate world for a while, and came back to my true love to train as a counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor after my own experiences as client in psychotherapy.
To this day, at 60 years old, I am still active in my own growth process, which makes life endlessly interesting.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw on different approaches to help fit my work to you. I see the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration which is essential for our work together to be successful. Over the years I've integrated many body-oriented methods which in many cases help go further than talking alone. I draw on mindfulness, EMDR and The Flash Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia and neuroscience as well as inviting you to work on yourself in between the sessions, to find tools that work for you.
Experience
I've worked in various roles over the years, besides my private practice. I've been an EAP Case manager and counsellor, a counselling tutor, a supervisor of trainees, a trainer in the corporate world, a teacher of personal development on an MBA, and more.
These days I focus on my private practice as therapist and clinical supervisor.
